I've prepared a PR that bumps the collection to a new major 3.0.0 release (#196). I plan to merge this later this month, probably after the next Ansible release. At that point I'll create a stable-2 branch and will keep it updated for some time (at least as long as Ansible 9 is still supported, i.e. until the end of this year).

Note that 3.0.0 will drop support for all Ansible/ansible-base/ansible-core versions that are currently EOL (i.e. 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 2.12, and 2.13).

2.9.0 is out with an updated PSL, an improved unsafe vars handling in the inventory plugins, and two new filter plugins for handling TXT records.

2.9.1 and 3.0.0 are out. 2.9.1 has an updated PSL, while 3.0.0 has several major and breaking changes, including that it now depends on another collection (community.library_inventory_filtering_v1). See the changelog for details.
