About

For GSoC 2021, our goal is to focus on projects that have community support. We archived many of the projects that have been involved with GSoC for 4+ years because there is little to no contribution after the program and it increases the gaps of information and confusion each year. We want to provide projects that 1) will be deployed as an early release product, 2) have community engagement, and 3) have clear features that are neccessary to launch a minimal viable product.

If you want to pursue an idea listed here, please post in the relevant project under "Project Requirements" or "New Issues." Please make sure to join an AMA GSoC Session to learn more about the changes we've made to the student application process.

Tutorial Materials:

  • If you have not worked in git or GitHub before, please make sure to complete a few tutorials and training since you will be submitting your project's code on GitHub.

These are a few examples of how our projects aim to have meaningful impacts on our target users' lives.

Your Own Idea

We will not be accepting any new projects in GSoC21. Many new apps have been started over the past few years then abandoned by the original founders which left the app with little to no support and a lot of confusion from newcomers who attempt to contribute to it.
