  • All 12 projects have confirmed acceptance for OSD this year! We have a great lineup.

  • We are working with Ryan and AnitaB on how the Co-chairs will speak at the event (i.e. live welcome messages, introduction of keynotes and live facilitation of networking / sponsor breaks - not prerecorded)

  • Since we have 12 projects I had the thought that we could split them among the co-chairs, and let people know we will be circulating among the projects and contributing to conversations and activities. Let me know what you think... I'd love to have more interaction from co-chairs, potentially capturing social media snaps/short videos and posting to X/LinkedIn/Insta... etc.

Please comment on this issue with ideas for how co-chairs can support and create a great experience for all OSD attendees, including project teams/maintainers. Thanks!

Co chair involvement opportunities include:

  • Introducing the event, flow of the day, featured project teams, and the keynote speaker (live)
  • Introducing the networking break and offering ice-breakers, thanking sponsors
  • Awarding any prizes or swag, and closing remarks/thanks with call to action to get involved
  • Each of the three co-chairs can 'sponsor' four projects and drop by their rooms for encouragement and interaction, and act as 'open source correspondents' to take screenshots and post to social media.
  • Optionally support the projects as they refine their run of show details (FAQ's)

The suggestion on the table is to have each co-chair 'adopt' four of the projects, to help shepherd them through the process of defining their run of show details and named maintainers (up to 15) who will support their project on OSD.

I've put the project teams I've closest in contact with below - and I know Vini is on the governing board for LF AI and Data, so I've added that below as well.

Vini, Gloria - do you have any preferences for splitting up these projects? Vini needs three more, and Gloria needs four:

  • Appwrite
  • Eclipse
  • Wildfly-elytron
  • Google's PerfKitBenchmarker - DevOps
  • Azure PyRIT
  • McKinsey Vizro
  • Undertow

Vini's Contacts

  • LF AI and Data

Paula's contacts

  • CHAOSS
  • FINOS
  • OpenJS Foundation
  • Open Data Hub

We've split the projects across the co-chairs so that we can work with these projects to help them refine their run-of-show activities and lists of supporting maintainers.

I'll follow up with info on how/when the projects will be notified, and if/when we will all have access to support them all in the event Speaker Portal - stay tuned!

Vini Jaiswal:

  • Appwrite
  • Google PerfKitBenchmarker
  • Azure PyRIT
  • LF Data and AI

Gloria Kimbwala:

  • Eclipse
  • Wildfly-elytron
  • McKinsey Vizro
  • Undertow

Paula Paul:

  • CHAOSS
  • FINOS
  • OpenJS Foundation
  • Open Data Hub
