This proposal is to add another level of organization in the workflow of the app. Please see the following regarding my thoughts about the workflow and implementation

  • When the user starts scanning(and when the feature is implemented, importing), pages are added to last active project, or a new project is created automatically.
  • in Grid View, images are displayed grouped by project.
  • pdf export needs to be added to a project, which internally is a pdf export of the images in the project. In fact, it can be relegated to the UI to have a "Select all in project" button which selects the images in that project, and pdf export workflow remains same.
  • projects can be renamed, deleted.
  • files can be moved between projects

On the implementation side of things,

  • project structure is reflected in the way that files are saved. Hence, the app doesn't have to store the structure separately.
  • renaming projects is simply renaming that folder.
  • moving files between projects is the same as moving between folders

+1 for this
I love the scanning capability of this app BTW.
Mostly everything about this app is good except for the organization of many many scans, which gets very very complicated.

Scanning manuals, books, legal documents, or even my mail requires multiple pages to be grouped together into a single document / PDF.
Other scanning apps are set up this way as well,
To closer fit the real documents that we are scanning.

This would be super helpful.
