Thanks for this!

I'm wondering if I could in any way git track the backup and crontab scripts if they're only readable for root? Any clue?

And out of curiosity: why do the file permissions have to be set to 700/600?

Hey,

I'm wondering if I could in any way git track the backup and crontab scripts if they're only readable for root? Any clue?

Let me be honest: I created this years ago and don't even use it myself. I keep it (and update sometimes) due to popularity (number of pulls). So, I can't really tell. Sorry.

And out of curiosity: why do the file permissions have to be set to 700/600?

That's something I don't know any more. It's not well documented but If I wrote it down back then, I am sure I had issues with other file permissions. But which exactly? I don't remember. Sorry again.

We can keep this issue open in case anyone knows and can help.
Have a nice day!
