A tag is a codeword that represents a particular security domain. To view a particular document fragment, a user must possess access to the given tag, at the required security clearance.

}A clearance level defines what level of sensitivity the information in a document fragment is. Each level implies all previous levels, so someone with "gamma" clearance also possesses "alpha" and "beta".

}Each document has a particular set of tags associated with it that determines its visibility. Content within the document contents can also be marked up with a simple syntax to automatically redact any information that a user with less clearance than that which is required could protentially read.
A document can only be authored and edited by someone with the highest level of priviledge for the given set of security tags. In addition, a user cannot add a tag that they do not have access to.
