I would be willing to try this. I would appreciate some input on the requirements.

Do all edges of a window need to be resizable or is it sufficient to have one/multiple corners respond to resizing?
Does it need to have the grid snapping for drag/resize?
Did you already have a specific approach in mind? Should it be a standalone implementation or is a library without dependencies okay/better?

Hey,

If you're willing to pitch in that would be great, caveat below.

In terms of requirements, it would need to maintain all existing functionality, and ideally give an indication that all sides can be resized (e.g. bold on hover).

Caveat: because the code is pretty stable, and the user perceived improvement would be minimal, this is pretty low priority. If you were interested in looking at either of the bugs #42 #43 that would be a greater contribution.
