Please give us a description of what happened.
When using either Gutenberg blocks, or the Classic Editor only, the issue persists. The highlight feature does not work within custom fields (text, textarea, WYSIWYG). Meanwhile, I have confirmed that the highlight feature does work on regular WYSIWYG content (for example, the default post editor).
I've tried disabling all plugins, and switching to a default theme with the same results.
Please describe what you expected to happen and why.
When the 'highlight' eye button is clicked, that the appropriate words become selected within the custom fields.
