How can we auto-recognize FEC mode like a commercial NIC? #26

Hi,

My customer has developed customized NIC using U50.

Commercial NICs (NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-5, ConnectX-6, etc.) automatically recognize and connect to each other in Auto-Nego on state.
Current Xilinx 100GE CMAC without Auto-Nego option requires manual control of the CMAC's FEC to match the opponent's FEC support before the link is connected

His questions are as below.

  1. If he adds Auto-Nego, CMAC's soft option, will U50 be able to auto-recognize FEC mode like commercial NICs?
  2. In this regard, he would like to try out Auto-Nego-related features in advance, what license he should use and how can he use the evaluated license before purchasing directly?

Thanks for your help.

Regards
