Unable to test torrent ip with magnet links

Forgive my ignorance, I'm not competent in this area but anytime I try to test the torrent ip using https://ipleak.net or others that use magnet links it never shows anything. I can use this site http://checkmyip.torrentprivacy.com and it worked once when downloading the actual test file but only when Im simultaneously downloading a legitimate file such as these for testing https://webtorrent.io/free-torrents. Just let me know what info you need to help diagnose it and I will provide.
