XLibre is a display server implementation of the X Window System Protocol Version 11 (Wikipedia), in short X11. It has been forked from the X.Org Server (Wikipedia). xorg / lib / libxtrans · GitLab was a dependency of the X.Org Server and therefore XLibre until os: incorporate xtrans xtrans-1.6.0 · X11Libre/xserver@cd81370. It's the person who packed XLibre for NixOS (and the average NixOS user, probably), not XLibre. I think XLibre just used the screenshots of first people who successfully run XLibre on their distros back then, and the NixOS person is the early adopter (see the Liberated screen above) and the screenshot just...sticks out a bit. XLibre don't officially endorse any alphabet ideology stuff, but they allow their contributors to express their opinions. The above is my observation and my understanding of how things work at XLibre and it should be taken with a grain of salt. |
