When we provide code for users, we should assume that all code is relevant and that it's better to see all the code than just a portion of it. I'm sure there are instances where functions are too long. In those cases, maybe we can collapse, or consider not showing the block.

I would agree that extending the height to 15-20 lines would often make more sense, letting it collapse automatically above that.

It might be helpful to have a floating "collapse" button.

If you start scrolling on WP_Query::get_posts() and get to line 600 -- hint: you're not even halfway done yet! -- then decide to bail and collapse it, you'd have to scroll back up another 600 lines to get to the top; or down another 900 to get to the bottom.
