I have 2 screens, one above the other. When WinMerge is on my top monitor (and only the top monitor), if I maximize the window, I have a full screen of "grey".
If I press "Alt" the arrow keys (to pop the menus), I see the menu items are at the bottom of the screen, instead of the top.

Steps to reproduce

  • Winmerge Version 2.16.44.0 X64
  • 2 screens, one above the other
    image
  • Drag WinMerge on the top monitor
  • Click on "maximize window"
  • Press "Alt" then "right arrow".

Expected result

  • Winmerge is displayed correctly in the full window.
  • I see the menu at the top of the window

Actual result

  • Screen is blank (grey)
  • The menu pops at the bottom of the window

Additional information

  • With the portable version 2.16.40, I don't have the problem.
  • Maximized window works well on the first monitor.

Thank you for reporting this.
This issue has been resolved in commit e0f7a47.

To work around it in version 2.16.44, you can:

Uncheck View → Tab Bar → On Title Bar.
Align the top position of the secondary monitor with the main monitor.

You can download the updated executable reflecting this fix from the link below.
