We have cloud watch monitoring and alerts for some of the default metrics provided by the service. However. the service lacks default support to other metrics of interest like Memory and Storage status. Monitoring additional metrics and setting up alerts would allow for better detection and enable proactive response to potential issues ahead of the outage notification of our uptime monitoring service. AWS appears to provide a CloudWatch agent that provides access to these metrics. We just need to install and configure that service on our servers.
