Jordan Perr-Sauer: What opportunities are out there for RSEs, and how can US-RSE help connect its members wittht those opportunities. Examples of opportunities could be publication venues, conferences, workshops, grant opportunities, other organizations related to US-RSE, and job opportunities

I think what I'm struggling with thinking about this question is that the entire thing is based on the idea that metrics / activities for a successful RSE are the same as those for a traditional academic. I think we should do our best to change that, meaning not defaulting to pushing new RSEs toward these traditional things. I guess it's all that we have now (better than nothing) but that doesn't mean it's the best or correct practice.
