When a task is created, claude code should immediately analyze it, determine its feasibility, and if feasible, generate a plan.

The plan should then be shared for further review by the issue creator and the repository developers.

Existing Implementation

1. Automated Plan Generation (.github/workflows/claude-plan.yml)

   • Triggers when the plan-needed label is added to an issue
   • Uses Claude Code to analyze issues and generate plans
   • Creates plan files in the plans/ directory
   • Automatically creates plan PRs for review

2. Complete Workflow Orchestration

   • Plan PRs can be reviewed and commented on
   • Merging a plan PR automatically labels the issue as plan-approved
   • The plan-approved label triggers automatic implementation
   • Implementation creates a new PR with the code changes

3. Quality Control

   • Feasibility assessment before planning
   • If infeasible, comments on the issue with explanation
   • Error handling throughout all stages

How to Use It

To trigger automated planning for any issue:

1. Add the plan-needed label to the issue
2. The workflow will automatically analyze it and create a plan PR
3. Review the plan PR, comment with feedback if needed
4. Merge the plan PR when satisfied
5. Implementation will trigger automatically

Current Configuration vs Issue Request

Currently, the system requires manually adding the plan-needed label. However, it can be configured to auto-trigger on ALL new issues by changing one line in .github/workflows/claude-plan.yml:
