Installations seems successful however nothing is happening when I'm using the keys.

I have turned of RCD:

launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.rcd.plist

Same here. Booting it in a separate session via cmuscontrold resolves it for me though.

Same here. Though I was quite okay to launch the cmuscontrold in the background and cmus in the frontground.
