interesting, I did not know that foodPortions existed. I am not sure if I want to import them when doing the FDC pull or if we should extract the conversions for a certain set of foods from the FDC dataset and push them into the open data project. What do you think? |

34 grams for one egg?, that is either a very small egg or the modifier property is trying to say this is the egg white. My sources indicate normal egg: ~60 grams, 34g egg white and 18g yolk S: <53g |

For foods like eggs where the quantities are in Each or pieces, can we utilize the FDC data that has average weights for various volumes? for example, my recipe calls for 6 eggs. i already am pulling nutrient info for eggs but all that is on a per 100g basis. id like to also import the data for the average weight and setup a unit conversion of 1 egg = 34g. same for other foods, mayo 1/2 cup = x g
this data is already available from the FDC api
