Are there any options for adding a contact form?

There sadly isn't an equivalent to the Liquid Storefront contact form in the Storefront GraphQL API.

Depending on your use case you could look into saving contact requests as a metaobject (via the Admin API) or forwarding the mail via something like MailChannels.

Please bear in mind that this is not an ideal solution and it's simply just a workaround I was playing with. Specially, because these form submissions won't trigger confirmation emails to the user.

Also, please ensure that the admin API token used is:

• protected using env vars and
• used only on the server (action) and
• is scoped only to read/write metaobject entries

1. Go to pipedream, create a endpoint there.
2. create contact-form on hydrogen, and use the endpoint from pipedream
3. send whatever oyu want from hydrogen
4. on pipedream use workflow to do whatever you want with your data, send sms, send email, send rocket etc.

This is a huge hurdle when using hydrogen. Every store needs a contact form, things like this makes me question the readiness of hydrogen.

Hydrogen is for developers, that want to customize the hydrogen as you wish, I personally just type the email on the contact page.

Yes developers want to implement their own front-end. But they want to use the existing back-end built into shopify. I.e. the answer collection, the simple gui for the marketing team and auto emailing capabilities.

If you make your own form you also need to setup your own server for answer collection and emailing and so on.

I'm sure any front-end developer can create a contact form and use Hydrogen to post to Make or Pipedream in 10 minutes, which will use you gmail to send an email. Hydrogen responsibility to give you api and tools to build e-commerce website.

Shopify needs to add hydrogen support to shopify forms, chat and bundles! @tobi

It is very good now, they added many cool functions (metaobject storage, flow support, ..)
