A Minecraft server proxy, like https://github.com/PaperMC/Velocity, gives us some advantages like automatic failover (we could have a backup server somewhere that people are moved-to if the main one is down) and seamlessly moving between two different servers (like if we ever have another BetaScape). It also somewhat increases security by serving as a middle layer between the user and the server.

For our specific scenario, the benefits provided by such a thing are marginal; nevertheless, it could be good to have one in-place to allow for future expansions.
