Can't publish blog posts in the future

We used to be able to publish blog posts in the future and they would only show up at the right time. Apparently this ability is gone.

Originally it tracked a bug that in production Jekyll was rendering posts that were supposed to be hidden, but it has morphed into a feature request that we augment the execution model of GitHub Pages to automatically rebuild the static site on a schedule.
