I followed schema installation steps found here:

• https://gtk-rs.org/gtk4-rs/stable/latest/book/settings.html

Specifically, I did this:

cd kooha-2.0.1/_build/data/   # see notes.  find a folder with io.github.seadve.Kooha.gschema.xml in it
mkdir -p $HOME/.local/share/glib-2.0/schemas
cp -r * $HOME/.local/share/glib-2.0/schemas/
glib-compile-schemas $HOME/.local/share/glib-2.0/schemas/

I had a _build/data/ directory because I was building from source.

If you are not building from source, you can probably look for this file in another directory and still try to cp them and glib-compile-schemas them: io.github.seadve.Kooha.gschema.xml
