Hello everyone. I made a gif that compares different scattering methods describe in section 8 of our book. Interestingly, hemispherical scattering offers brighter spheres and less shadow than "correct" Lambertian spheres. I suspect that this is because hemispherical scattering provides even more uniform scattering of the light rays, but I am not sure if I have the right picture in mind. My thought is that the hemispherical shape covers more ground than the ball tangent to the intersection point. What do you guys think?
