Hi everyone!
I wanted to provide a brief update to the discussion about ending support for arm processors that I started a few days ago in order to gauge the popularity of Raspberry Pi and arm broadly in the community. I made the decision to post that in order to solicit feedback on the issue. Specifically, I wasn't sure how many users were using arm, what those deployments look(ed) like, and to get outside consideration on the issue. I also wanted to surface/expose the active Twitter poll, in order to get an idea for how many people would be affected by the change. The results of that poll are below.
After reading through the discussion comments, we had a discussion on Discord and ultimately landed on the decision to explore a solution that would lead to a .NET6 version of TShock working on arm/Raspberry Pi. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the discussion. It was immensely helpful to see which deployments would be affected. In particular, I really appreciate those who took time to compare/contrast single-board computers from a price perspective, and from a power draw perspective, compared to x86_64-based counterparts.
Again, based on this discussion, we're going to keep looking into ways we can get .NET6 + arm + TShock working together.
Thank you to everyone who contributed and made their voices heard on this issue. I know it took time and effort to type your responses. Rest assured, I've read every single one of them. Thank you for your input!
Below are the Twitter poll final results + analytics, for posterity:
