...I personally think that you must not give it double jumping ability by default. For example, adding a special boot type with double jump effect could be a great implementation of this idea.
This could be added, but a settingtypes option should be added, as not all players might want to use boots to perform the double jump. New textures would need to be created, and an API such as 3D Armor should be used.
Context
Players that prefer to craft and use boots for double jump would like it, as long as the option is enabled. Those that prefer to perform a double jump without boots can either use the privilege no matter if the boots option is enabled or not, or completely disable the boots.
