Installing Castmill Player

  1. Perform a factory reset (only required for VitrineMedia screens)

    The screen comes preinstalled and preconfigured with apps from VitrineMedia that will disturb CastmillPlayer. To avoid this a factory reset should be performed

    1. Go to Settings -> Backup & reset and choose Factory data reset image
    2. Wait while the screen resets and reboots
  2. Allow “Unknown Sources”

    1. Go to Settings -> Security -> Unknown Sources and activate Allow installation of apps from unknown sources
  3. Configure Wifi under Settings -> Wifi

  4. Download and install Teamviewer Host

    1. Download Teamviewer Host from

      TeamViewer Alternative download

    2. Open Downloads on home screen Install the downloaded app

    3. Configure TeamViewer by opening this link

    4. Accept remote access by clicking ASSIGN

    5. Click INSTALL when asked whether to install add Add-On

    6. Wait for download to complete and then click INSTALL again when download has been completed

    7. Once installed, navigate to the Accessibility menu of the Android device and enable the Universal Add-On Accessibility Service. Allow accessibility service

  5. Install Castmill Player

    1. Download Castmill Player and Castmill Watchdog.

    2. Install both apk files

    3. Launch Castmill Player and wait for the registration view to appear

    4. Register the player in https://tyloprint.castmill.io using the pin displayed on the screen

  6. Verify the installation

    1. Check that all the following apps appear under Settings -> Apps Castmill Player, Castmill Watchdog, Host, QuickSupport Add-On

    2. Go back to home screen and open the app Host Check that the app is connected to Castmill Admin as in the screenshot below

    3. Go back to home screen and open the app Castmill Player Check that the app starts and that the Player is online in tyloprint.castmill.io
