HydroDyn MnDrift_InitCalc: “Second order WAMIT data is too sparse” — how to resolve?

Hello,

Could you please advise how to resolve the “second order WAMIT data is too sparse” issue during module initialization?

I have attached screenshots showing the OpenFAST error message and my WAMIT .pot input file for reference.

Dear @YuYuJou,

Does your WAMIT-generated .7 file contain all combinations of the two angles? If you have more than one angle in either direction, HydroDyn will require that you include all combinations of those angles.

I’ve checked, and my .7 file does include all the angles from -180° to 180°.

I meant that HydroDyn expects the .7 file to include all combinations of angles. E.g., if you have two angles in both directions, Ang1 and Ang1, you would need all 4 combinations:
Ang1 Ang1
Ang2 Ang2
Ang1 Ang2
Ang2 Ang1

Do you have that?

Thank you, I understand now. I didn’t include the cross combinations in my data. I’ll rerun the WAMIT calculations.
