`If-None-Match` header takes the same time as without it

I'm trying to be friendly to the API and only fetch data when needed, but it seems that while this header works and will return a 304 if the data hasn't been modified, the request still takes the same amount of time.

Right now the HTTP setup for the API isn't optimal. I have it behind a gateway with a bit of a janky configuration so far. I'll come back to this in a little bit.
