xdrip+ periodic "not responding" crash in the background with no-data nightscout follower

we have two devices (pixel 7 and pixel 7 pro) setup as followers to a nightscoutpro.com account. the individual who has the collector/uploader is currently in the backcountry and offline. both devices are receiving regular "not responding errors" with ~24hrs (currently "signal missed 1766 minutes ago") of no data from the source.

it's wedged enough i cant get the current build number from within the app. but android app info has:

ah ha! i paused the app for a while and when i un-paused it i was able to load up the system status page.

looks like it's maybe flaky DNS combined with aggressive restarting (and xdrip+ not handling the bad DNS resolution well). I've redacted the subdomain in question (because it's security through obscurity and the individual who runs the collector/nightscoutpro account is offline)

Is xDrip still crashing?

it's no longer crashing and stopped crashing before the collector came back online (the collector is online now). i've swapped the dns to be a random subdomain to see if that reproduces the behavior
