Is it possible to send "Hyper" modifier key?

Some older Keyboards - e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space-cadet_keyboard - have a modifier key - "Hyper".
Is it possible to send that key?
If not - is it maybe a similar problem like the AltGr-modifier problem (mentioned here #22)?

For me the most interesting keys are ones not present on my normal keyboard - i.e. an additional modifier would make it possible to map combinations with it to hotkeys wich would not interfer with commonly used hotkeys.

Unfortunately I'm not very experienced regarding c-programming so I don't see me tackling this myself any time soon.
