Gamepad sliders count

Is it possible to add more sliders than 6 or is that a hardware or host driver limitation?
If I want more than 6 sliders how would I go about achieving that? I dont need 32 buttons for my project.

I think there was a limit on windows 7 at that time. You can try by modifying the descriptor.
