The DOE/PNNL and NEEA Compliance Project is trying to map EnergyPlus outputs to cells in their spreadsheet to ease compliance reporting and review.

Some calculations require checking component energy use against component sizing, and it would be helpful if the individual component energy use was available in the final output html report.

Suggested method is to add information to the 'subcategory' field to individual major components so that they show up in the 'End Uses By Subcategory' section of the 'Annual Building Utility Performance Summary' report. Components covered are:

  • Central Supply Fans
  • Central Hot Water / Chilled Water Pumps
  • Boilers
  • Chillers
  • Heat Rejection Equipment (cooling towers)

Thoughts?

I think this is a good idea for a lot of reasons. I think we might want to add additional information we have about the types of pumps/fans (VSD/no-VSD), chillers (scroll/recip/etc.) as well. I think we should make them : delimited so that the different levels are easier to parse.
