Hi, The so-called ".hluresfile" *might* work -- its a way to control defaults with NCL and I have no reason not to think it doesn't work with PyNGL, but I haven't tried it either. Look at the "Font" resource: http://ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Graphics/hlures.shtml Hope that helps... Rick

You put it in your home directory (I just tested this and it does indeed work for PyNGL as it does in NCL).
