„Domácí úkol“ se skládá ze dvou částí: skicování a čtení.
The „homework“ consists of two parts: sketching and reading.
- přeskicujte slovo „videospan“ (jen v minuskách) podle libovolných tří z pěti výše uvedených písem.
- litery neobkreslujte přes pauzák, ale otevřete si obrázek na počítači nebo vytiskněte a na samostatný papír skicujte.
- kreslete písmena tak, aby měla střední výšku (x-height) cca. 3–4 cm
- zbytečně se nevykreslujte s detaily, snažte se vystihnout „ducha písma“
- kreslete slovo, ne jednotlivá písmena
- sketch the word “videospan” (lowercase only) according to any three samples out of the five above.
- do not trace the letters on tracing paper, but open the picture on your computer or have it printed and sketch on another paper.
- the letters should be ca 3–4 cm tall (x-height)
- you do not need to be fussy about details, try to catch the “spirit of the type”
- sketch the word, not individual letters
V češtině jsem se snažil vybrat literaturu, která je snáze dostupná a vynechal jsem drahé a tlusté knihy typu Typografia, Typografická písma latinková či Krásné písmo. Velmi užitečná kniha je Tvorba typografického písma od Oldřicha Menharta. Ta se ovšem těžko shání.
