What:

This issue's purpose is to clean up the UI, not to add functionality. Here is a list of what should be completed:
- prevent overlap of the panels and the navbar
- prevent scrolling of the overall page
- prevent scrolling sideways inside of panels (by making the panels the correct size)
- clean up the hg version indicator
- fix disappearing buttons on top nav bar upon window resize
- instead of opening the model pane immediately after parsing logs, display all of the panels

Why:

The UI has a lot of small bugs/possibilities of enhancement. These will make the UI easier to use and less distracting.

How to measure completeness:

As long as the above goals are completed and the UI generally "looks better", we are all set.
