<h4><b>The VanWyksvlei community is given high priority in the supply of satellite communications technology using VSAT and WiFi.</b></h4>
<p>The VanWyksvlei cellular phone tower present a high risk of interference at the MeerKAT telescope. The Astronomy Management Authority (AMA) has given cellular phone operators a permit to transmit radio signals with a condition that changes are made to the VanWyksvlei radio tower for protecting the MeerKAT telescope from radio frequency interference at the end of December 2021.</p>

<h4><b>The corridor of 30KM from the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) spiral arms identify medium level priority for the supply of satellite communications technology using VSAT and WiFi. </b></h4>
<p>The Astronomy Management Authority (AMA) has also assessed the radio frequency interference in other towns within the declared Karoo Central Astronomy Advantage Areas (KCAAAs). The changes in other towns within the KCAAAs are aligned to the deployment and operation of remote Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope. The changes to cellular phone towers in other towns within the KCAAAs is likely to happen around 2025.</p>
