Is this project still active/maintained?

The last commit was ~10 months ago, most of the issues are very old and doesn't have responses from maintainers.

Is it just a temporary pause in development?

This project is largely feature complete for Materialize's needs. I think it's unlikely it sees much more development unless someone else takes over maintenance.

Are you going to be open to accept PRs from outside of Materialize?

For example, we recently faced a few issues with building the crate on MacOS machines.
BTW, I didn't have a chance to deep dive if that is environment setup issue or something that could be fixed inside the crate.

I no longer have commit rights, so I'm afraid I can't say what the policy/bandwidth will be for accepting outside PRs. We'll need someone from @MaterializeInc to chime in.
