User API |
docs |
In general, there are 2 ways to identify a user: his user name and his user ID.
-
The user name is defined by the user on registration, but can always be changed later. For display to end-users, the user name is of course the better option.
-
The user ID is a GUID which should be unique across all ALD servers. It is assigned on registration and can never be changed. When it comes to saving a user identifier, the ID is the better option. On display, the ALD client can then check the server for the (current) user name.
