An explore feature which will not engage the chromatic layout (but may want to invoke chromatic.zoom).
The idea here would be to use OSM or a similar tiling map service, tag all images with geolocation and pin them to the map at the position in which they were taken.

preprocess.py has a working GPS location extractor from EXIF, but as we export sans EXIF info geotags are a bit troublesome automatically. But considering we don't change the name of the files it should be easy enough to search the raw directories for the original file and pull GPS info from there.
