Requirements

  • This is a feature request and not a bug report. Otherwise, please create a new bug report instead.
  • Please check to see if this request (or a similar one) already exists.
  • It's a single feature. Please don't request multiple features in one issue.

Describe the feature you'd like

I noticed my Subscribed feed combined 2 posts, but it was showing the older post which had 1 point and 0 comments, while hiding the slightly newer post that had 2 points and 1 comment, which seems a bit silly. I was thinking maybe that should be changed, idk if you guys agree, but maybe it's better to start by being able to turn off the feature? The feature is especially troublesome on the "Moderator view" or when viewing a community directly.

The older post is preferred, in order to discourage ppl posting the same link and only seeing the newer one, that likely has less comments and votes.

The dupes are still shown, they're just minimized.

I'm not sure what the use-case is for posting the same link to the same community, seems like those are duplicates that should probably be removed.

You could add this as a back-end setting if you like though.

Steam hardware surveys is one use. Another use is GamesDoneQuick events, their Twitch link is always the same.

Also like I said it's important for moderation, someone could hide abusive posts by linking to something that's been linked before.

Another example: https://ani.social/c/dragonball

The episode 17 discussion thread is hidden by the episode 16 discussion thread https://ani.social/post/9288349
