I created a first page on the wiki and listed the kind on instrument I will need. I suggest everybody completes the list and that we create then a dedicated page in the wiki for each instrument type.

I just added a page listing the instrument I will need. When possible I added references to the docs to ease discussion about the standards. It would be great if everybody could do the same.

question:
i also need the Agilent PNA, but am currently using it with the python-ivi (backend=vxi11).
is the backend relevant ? should i make a new entry under a different backend?

I guess we will unify all visa like stuff using pyvisa (at some point vxi11 could be integrated in pyvisa-py) so no don't create a new entry for that.

When mentioning python package I was thinking about a Zurich instrument lock-in which comes with Python support.
