It's definitely free and pretty much open source (as far as I know 🤷).

But Mozilla Firefox can do basic PDF editing as outlined in the article below:

Nope, it's got full blown editing & drawing. Check the link.

the link only shows adding text and drawing over existing pdf. not modification.

If you need to add stuff to a PDF document, now you can do that online with Firefox.

I just tried Firefox 126.0.1 (64-bit) and like the article and @Quicksilver151 points out, the feature allows adding but not modifying.
