Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I have searched the existing issues

Current Behavior

when I open the app it stays on the loading screen and doesn't start and I have to close it and reopen it to get it to start

Expected Behavior

App should start at first try

Steps to reproduce

I opened the app

Operating System

Android One Ui 6.0

Spotube version

3.7.1

Installation source

F-Droid (Android)

Additional information

I also point out some drops in performance during use and the need for optimization of the app

I'm experiencing this issue as well. Simple closing the app often doesn't help. Sometimes it is necessary to long press the app icon to get to App info and Force stop the app.

LineageOS21 (Android 14)
Latest Spotube versions from F-Droid (3.6.0, 3.7.0, 3.7.1)

This happens when the app is sent to background mode (paused state) instead of actually quitting it. Modern Android does this to keep the app warm in the background. If your OS has a "Clear All" or something similar in the Recents, it can get rid of Spotube or any app completely from the background
