How to avoid deleting pdf on syntax error?

When I'm typing, sometimes I have an unclosed curly brace, like \emph{block consistent. I am also continiously rebuilding my pdf for the preview screen. The combination of these two means that on a syntax error, this extension deletes my working pdf which abruptly closes the preview screen. Is there a setting to avoid this?

I see these events in the output which I think are related:

[08:46:20.757][Cacher][Watcher] "delete" emitted on %WS1%/build/main.pdf .
[08:46:20.757][Cacher][Watcher] Unwatched folder %WS1%/build .
[08:46:20.757][Event] FILE_REMOVED: "%WS1%/build/main.pdf"

Maybe that final FILE_REMOVED part can be disabled?
