Hi @jrecasens The D455 is capable of capturing colour and depth information whilst moving fast or observing fast moving objects from a fixed position. For example, it can render depth smoothly whilst attached to a vehicle travelling at full speed, like in the video at the link below taken with the similar D435 model. https://youtube.com/watch?v=OwJmCyAn3JQ The D455 also has excellent depth accuracy over distance, being able to retain accuracy when observing objects / surfaces that are at up to 6 meters distance from the camera before accuracy starts to noticably reduce beyond that distance. The D455 should ideally be positioned at a minimum distance of around 0.5 meters / 50 cm away from the platform. If your project requires the camera to be closer to the platform then the D435 model would be the best choice, as it has a minimum depth sensing distance of only 0.1 m / 10 cm from an object / surface. |

Hello,
I am working on a project that measures material volume (outdoors) on a platform that moves between is 3.5 and 7.5 m/s (600 and 1400 fpm).
Do you think the Intel Realsense D455 is suitable for the task?
Best,
Javier
