Hello, everyone,
As can be seen by the discusion in the post detailing development work for the just released Nodezator 1.5, I value healthy work conditions. Because of that, as in any other kind of work, I take measures to ensure my work as maintainer of the Indie Python project and its software and content is also healthy for me. That's why I always take 30 days off every year, in accordance with work regulations in my country, although I divide them in 02 15-days periods. More accurately, 15 days off every 06 months, that happen in these weeks:
Since I already took my 15 days in December/January, now it is time for my 15 days in the middle of the year, so I'll be off from July 1st until July 15th.
As the maintainer of an open-source project, however, it is important for me to be constantly available for people that occasionally interact in the available channels and repositories. People seeking help on discord, reaching via social media networks or publishing issues, discussions and pull requests on GitHub. That's why I only take 15 days off twice a year instead of taking 30 days off once a year. This way I don't get absent for a long period time.
Even so, I won't be totally absent, quite the contrary: since the project needs someone to be constantly available, despite being on my days off, during that period I'll still check all the social media, channels and repositories of the project daily as I usually do. I'll answer anything that is urgent and for anything that isn't I'll kindly request people to wait until the end of that period.
Naturally, as I'll be on my days off, I won't do any software development or content production work for the Indie Python project during that period.
I said last week that I'd post a new discussion to plan the next development work for Nodezator, but I didn't have enough time to plan and write it in order to publish it this week before my 15 days off begin. The reason is that writing it requires consulting a lot of other content in order to pick the best suggestions for next features to be implemented and I also worked on other Indie Python tasks this week. I apologize for that.
Instead, I'll do so as soon as I'm back from my 15 days off.
Thank you for your attention and please, if any of you need any clarification on the matter or have any feedback, let me know right away.
Peace
