SubNet - Your Platform for Sublets and Social Connections

Welcome to SubNet, your go-to platform for subletting and meaningful social connections. Whether you're a homeowner looking to rent your space for a short period or an individual in search of a short-term rental, SubNet is here to simplify the process for you. Additionally, we aim to bridge the generation gap by connecting older individuals in need of companionship with younger people willing to offer assistance in exchange for a place to live.

Running SubNet

To run the SubNet platform locally, follow these simple steps:

  1. Start the Server: Open your terminal and navigate to the src folder of the project. Run the following command to start the server:
    node server.js

After successfully starting the server, keep the terminal running, and open the login.html file in your preferred web browser to access the SubNet platform locally.

Features

Getting Started

To get started with SubNet, follow these simple steps:

  1. Sign Up or Log In: Create an account or log in to your existing account to access the platform.

  2. Complete Your Profile: Provide necessary details about yourself or your property to enhance the user experience and build trust within the community.

  3. Explore Listings: At SubNet, we value transparency and reliability in our community. After each rental period:

    A. Rate Your Renter: As a householder, you have the opportunity to rate the individual who rented your apartment. Share your experience by providing feedback on whether they were a responsible renter, left the property in good condition, or if there were any issues.

    B. Rate the Apartment: Renters, you can also contribute to the community by providing feedback on the apartments you've rented. Rate the cleanliness, quality of equipment, and the overall experience, including the treatment received from the householder.

This two-way rating system helps build a trustworthy and reliable community, ensuring that our members have a positive experience throughout their interactions on SubNet.

Remember, your feedback matters! It not only helps individuals make informed decisions but also contributes to fostering a sense of accountability within our community.
