If we really wanted to use iolib. It might be safer to just use the select backend on OS X since kqueue is so broken but it seems to work now without any issues.
I think I can remove some of the handler cases. I also no longer get any UTF8 errors, which I believe were being caused because the router id we read is most certainly not a string.
Tested with the hubot-shaky client.
Thoughts?
