Dear all,

We have observed final-state nucleons (neutrons and protons) with zero momentum. As an example, we have identified a NC event with zero momentum nucleon production, as shown in the attached image.

These zero momentum nucleons have been detected in Genie v3.0.6, v3.2.0, and v3.4.0. Through testing, we have determined that these nucleons only appear in NCQE events and are strongly correlated with FSI processes. Furthermore, in events featuring these nucleons, energy conservation is not maintained.

The presence of these nucleons has an impact on nucleon multiplicity, which in turn affects the final results of NC background in rare event research, such as diffuse supernova neutrino background (DSNB), dark matter, and nucleon decay.
