CNC DDraw is a very good extension, but there is a problem that needs help. After using CNC DDraw, it is not possible to play the game twice or multiple times, as it always crashes. How should I solve this problem? My English is not good, I hope I can understand it,Thank you

Here's what happened in my case. Whether on the first run or after, the game (Space Rangers in my case) would play perfectly fine for a few minutes, and then crash back to my fully updated Windows XP SP3 (with One Core API 4.0) running on VMWare Workstation 17.6.2. This issue didn't occur with a copy of the game directory made before I ran the game with cnc-ddraw inside. I know Direct3D apps (7 in this case) are not supported by cnc-ddraw, but then I don't understand why Space Rangers is listed as a supported game. I was trying out the base version (1.0), btw, the last one being 1.7.2.

However, I was able to make the game run with no issues using the cnc-ddraw-experimental-debuglog.zip's contents over the 7.1's files, which I wanted to use as a debug, and expected to also crash. The only slight inconvenience is that it was showing the FPS counter and frame time in the upper-left corner.

However (again), once I copied the 7.1's files back over the 7.1-cnc-ddraw-experimental-debuglog mixed version and ran the game again, not only did the FPS counter and frame time in the upper-left corner go away as expected, Space Rangers ran perfectly fine and didn't crash like the first time, so it seems that the debug version made some crucial game-fixing changes there.

You could try do that, see if it helps.

Thank you very much for your help, but I have also tried the debug version. The game is very slow, close to crashing, and takes longer to run, but the result is still the same
